Hi Sheila

             Are you sure it was Hannah that William Spencer married, do you have them in any census year at all ?

             I have found a William Spencer marrying a Martha Dean in 18/ July/1819 at St Peters Prestbury. I seem to remember deans being one of yours ?

            Also Francis Naden cotton dresser married Mary Ann Bay also at St Peters Prestbury 12/Feb/1832.

let know about William

Hi Peter,

That bit of the tree comes from the days when I did a lot of work at the library looking through the microfilm records one by one.

I must have found a Wm Spencer in the right area with a wife called Hannah and assumed it was the right one.

My daughter actually queried this with me as she found the Wm Spencer married to Martha with a daughter called Frances on the 1851 census.  That daughter would have been a lot younger than my gt. gt. gran

I am wondering now if William married twice or if I had the wrong one altogether because Ann Spencer, gt. gt. grandmother married twice, firstly to David Hodkinson and secondly to James Jolley. The second marriage is witnessed by a woman who's first name was Frances.

thanks for your help.

Hi Chris
Thank you for your kind offer.
I have a John Lee marries Alice Duckers around 1785, Aldford if that is a place. Also a James Lee who marries an Eliza ??? and I appreciate if you can't find them they have there 1st child in 1830 so a look at 1829 would be great. I'm sorry that is all the info I have, if you can't find them please don't worry. Lee as a surname is quite tough to research especially as most boys are christened 'James'!!!

Thanks
Libby

Could I please ask for a look up of the Phillimore's register for Cheshire?

I am looking for the marriage of William Francis CRANE to Elizabeth (?).  The marriage is likely to have taken place in Chester between 1805 and 1813.  (I did have a look at Holy Trinity's records for this time but they appear to be missing)

Many thanks
