Hi Griz
The latest records of marriages that I have for Frodsham St. Lawrence are

31/3/1823 Thomas Pope and Martha Penkerman

31/3/1824 Joseph Pope and Elizabeth Ball

sorry I cannot help any further but the index I have is not complete to 1837 in all areas.

I would contact the records office asap, I have seen many instances of mothers of illegitimate children although not naming the father, they leave a clue as to his ID sometimes with an unused middle forename for the child.

Peter
Thank you so much for the info on Jonathan Edwards. You were correct with the Poulton cum Spital area. We have been searching for him for a long time. Now we find he had at least 5 older brothers! The Jonathan Edwards from Wirral registered in BMD is not correct one - I have that birth certificate available if anyone wants it.

Your help with this was much appreciated.
Kind regards
 :)

Hi Cheshire Researchers

Today, I was given the following CD:

Cheshire Parish Records by S & N Genealogy Supplies

The CD allows you to browse, search and print Marriage Registers for all 5 volumes of W.P.W Phillimores Cheshire Parish Record Transcripts.

The dates covered are 17th and 18th Century

If you require me to look through these records for an ancestor of yours, please supply as much information as possible; and I will try to oblige

Hello Chris,

I'm looking for a marriage between Thomas Sorton and Mary, possibly at Over Tabley, about 1790 or a little earlier.  Do you have anything which could help me?  Many thanks for your time!

Blow!

Thanks anyway.  My Sortons and Hintons are very elusive when it comes to marriages - why do I get the impression they weren't entirely respectable???
