Hi,
many thanks for your efforts, some ancestors just don't appear to wish to be found.

Thanks Peter - that is great detail.

I will attempt to get Elizabeth's maiden name fom a post-1837 child. However, for a complete record I would be grateful if you could take a look in your marriage records of an early 1830's wedding around Disley - do they extend into Derbyshire?

Also, I have another Bennett 1841/51/61 census search request

Abraham m. Sarah Wainwright May 16 1858 Macclesfield.

Yesterday I received Sarah's birth cert. from Cheshire East CRO.

Sarah Wainwright born Apr 24 1839 Pott Shrigley
Father James Wainwright of Pott Shrigley, mother Frances Bennett

Also IGI has James Wainwright m. Frances Bennett Feb 3 1834 Prestbury

I cannot find James or Frances in the 1871 or 1881 census.

It would be great to to have the detailed picture of the family from 1841/51/61 census.

All the best

Roy

Hi,

I've just discovered a possible new ancestor in Susannah Williamson who according to census information originated in Stockport in 1779.
The IGI mentions a Susannah Williamson born in Stockport 16 Dec 1779 but with no parents or christening. I'm not sure if this is the correct person and would love to find a christening for her. Similarly a Caleb Williamson with some event possibly a birth about 1781 in Stockport.
The family presumably moved to Prestwich and the same Susannah Williamson hopefully married James Cowburn in 1801.
Any information regarding records of Susannah or Caleb in Stockport would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Jean Sandra

I'm trying to find a family in Stockport with the name Boulton.
It begins with Samuel and Jane (born 1775) Boulton who had children including Thomas born 1823/24 and Eliza born 1814/15.
Eliza's children were born in Stockport and included
Jane born 1834/35
Ellen born 1839
Susannah born 1847
Alice born 1850
They all carried her name Boulton or her parteners name Thorniley.
If anyone could find baptisms etc for these family members I would be delighted.

Thanks for the great detail on the Wainwrights - the mother-in-law is nice bonus.

One more if I may.

I have the marriage certificate of William BADDELEY and Emma SMITH 1851 Talke oth Hill, Staffs. In later censuses their daughters Ellen B1854 AND Henrietta B1855 (this one also in Cheshire BMD) cite their birthplace as Linley, a hamlet just over the border from Talke which I believe is part of the Sandbach registration district.

Could you please look for the family in the 1861 census?

All the best

Roy

Hi Roy
Indeed the birth reg for Henrietta does say Sandbach on the Cheshire BMD, but as far as I know there is no Linley in that area, the only one I know of is in Shropshire, could be wrong, often am, its possible to search the Sandbach area although it may be easier with an address from the birth certificate, there is no name index and its quite a large area.
Do you have them in 1871 if so where?

regards

Hi Peter

Could you check a marriage for me, it's the couple you looked up earlier on the census for me. James Jepson and Ann, would have been in Heaton Norris, possilby around 1827/28.

Many thanks yet again.
