Hello there ---yes i sent a reply,

The combinations of Hamnet/Hamlet/ Massey and Mary is not uncommon, which date did they marry ? Is it 29 april 1798 ?

or 1821 , I know there are others but i havent documented them yet.

Hello  Jean,

Thank you for the news on George Massey & Mary Pimlotte/Pimblott

I have stayed up half the night working on this!,   George & Mary Pimblott had 3 children beofre he died in 1786 it seems.

Only one was a son -  John Massey born Nether Knutsford 1782. The great uncle to George left his widow some money in 1791, but he didnt say how many of the children were alive at that point.

Could I beg you to look up any possible marriages for John Massey say about 1810? please in the Knutsford area.

Thank you for your efforts, it has been a great help in sorting some of this family. There are several in Knutsford who seem to have been shoemakers, and may be related in  some way, its just finding the right  connections.
I am very wary of making the same mistake...

Hi Juno,

Nothing obvious for this, what was the date of the will and does it give her first name?

hello Jean

The will was that of John Peak, gent of Manchester late of Knutsford. dated 15 October 1791, to Mary Massey widow of my late nephew George Massey.
It was a right off , for money borrowed.....

So I think you are right in that -it is Mary Pimlott.

 :)

Thanks Joan for your help with the John Challinor/Chaloner marriage, that was great but his son James was married as Chaloner to Anne Sinker in 1852 at Over. Three sons were married as Chaloner then the rest were Challinor, didn't think to look under different spellings ! I tried Anne Sinker and up came James Chaloner. So thank you for that sugestion too.  Chris.
Challinor= Cheshire,   Onions- Walsall Staffordshire,   Cliffe/Cliff Warrington Eckersley- Salford, Heathcote Windsor, Palin Cheshire/ Beeston

I'm looking for a marriage between Sarah Birkett, born Cheshire 1806 and somebody Chandley, probably in Stockport.

Any help appreciated.

Bob.

Just checked the 1841 census, husband's name was George Chandley, they have a 7-year old daughter, so marriage probably about 1832ish

Hi Jean,

Could be the right Chandley and I've got something wrong :-[

I got the name from the 1851 census, where George Birkett (who I'm interested in) is resident with Sarah Chandley and is shown as her brother. I therefore assumed she was another Birkett.
