I am looking for the marriage of Samuel Davies b. 1816 in Wincham, to a Mary b. 1810.

I believe they had a son, John Davies b. 1836 but they have him as born in New Church,Over, Marton on four different census'

If John is their son, any information on Samuel and Mary would be greatly appreciated!

BK

Hi BK,

I can't see a marriage for a Samuel DAVIES in the right timescales.  Do you have any other children to Samuel and Mary, or have you found them in the 1841 census?  If so, can you provide the reference?

Thanks

Jean

Hi again Jen

Could you look up a couple more marriages for me?

Moses Dobson married to Mary around 1775 in Daresbury

James Foulkes married to Alice around 1775 in Appleton

Thanks very much, Kate

Hi Kate,

This is the only marriage for Moses:

Moses DOBSON, farmer Newton tpc m Sarah STOCKTON sp Appleton p Gt Budworth 30 May 1775 at Daresbury by licence

Sorry, no match for James Foulkes.

Jean.

Hi Jean

I now think this is the first marriage of Moses Dobson b. 22 Sep 1751. He and Sarah had two children - Samuel b. 25 Aug 1776 d. 1792 and Mary b. 1778 d. 1792. Beginning in 1780, he had at least three more children with Mary - John b. 18 Jun 1780, George b. 07 Jul 1782 d. 1793 and Thomas b. 23 May 1784. It is this second marriage I am interested in, which now looks like it would have happened around 1779 in Daresbury/Great Budworth.

Moses' parents were Moses Dobson b. 1724 & Mary b. 1729 who were married between 1745-1750 as they had children beginning in 1750 - George b. 1750 d. 1750, Moses b. 22 Sep 1751, Samuel b. 24 Mar 1753 and George b. 27 Mar 1756. Do you have any record of this marriage in Daresbury/Great Budworth.

This Moses' parents were Thomas Dobson b. 1686 and Ellen Bulling b. 1690, who were married in Great Budworth in 1711.

Thanks for your help.

Kate

Chris,

I'm looking for a marriage between John Barber & Jane Gibson, both born around 1796 and recorded in the 1841 Census at Siddington with their 11 children. The eldest child, John, was born in 1817.
As they continued to live in Siddington all their lives, I suppose they were there earlier on. John was the village brick maker as well as a small farmer.

Hope you can come up with something
Thanks, Ann

Hello, Chris - I'm trying to find out more information about Great Budworth area marriages, please (probably St Mary's):

I'm looking for a James Penny (Penney?) who married a Martha, roughly between 1770 - 1790.

I'd also be interested in any information you can provide about a marriage between James Cowley and a Mary, roughly around the same time

Thank you!

Janet
