I am looking for the marriage of Thomas Kenyon and Phoebe Cashier ( Chesher)in Stockport. They list Stockport on census as place of birth and all children born there,
I am assuming that the marriage would be between 1802 and 1813. The first child I have located was born in 1813.
I hope that this is not too wide a time frame

Thankyou somuch fornot only finding this marriage but also for cleverly waorking out that cashier was Kershaw. I have been searching for Phoebe's name for a number of years always unsuccessfully. You have opened up a new branch  in my family tree.

I know he married 23 Feb 1835 in Prestbury to a widow Margaret Barlow.
I am looking for his first marriage, so I can have the name of Jane's mother.

There doesn't look to be anything obvious for the dates that you are looking.

Thos PRESTON m Eliz. WHITTINGHAM 12 Feb 1816 at Middlewich
Thomas PRESTON m Fanny WALKER 13 Oct 1824 at Chester St Oswald
Thos PRESTON m Maria GRIMES 15 Feb 1825 at Cheadle

These are from indexes and no further information is given.  I see from the index that Thomas was a butcher when he married Margaret.

I think you may need to find a baptism for Jane to help you identify the right marriage.

Thanks for looking Jean.
All I know for sure is Jane was 25 when she married in 1849.
Her father is recorded as Thomas Preston, Butcher.
Jane & some of her children are with Thomas & Margaret
in the 1861 Census in Macclesfield.
There Jane is recorded as born 1822 Macclesfield.
In 1871 Jane is listed as being born Born Rainow Cheshire.
So I will keep searching for her baptism.
