Hi Chris,

I hope you can get me past a brick wall.

I am searching the Brierley family, and at this point have William Briarley (Brierley) married to a Hannah. William b 1782c  & Hannah b 1791c, according to LDS both of Tintwistle.

Can you see in your records, a marriage between these two and any mention of Hannah's maiden name?

Regards

Norm

Hi Chris, have just seen your very generous offer and wondered if you could look up a marriage for me. My gt, gt, gt grandfather was James Bedson and he was married to Sarah? They had 3 children, one of which was my gt, gt. grandfather joseph born 1827. He changed his name to Benson after his marriage to Ann Findlow. Joseph was born in Huxley but i think James was born in Chester around 1801. If you can help i would be grateful. Thank you.

Hi Norm,

You don't say when their first child was born, but these are the only possible matches I can see:

Wm BRIERLEY m Hannah HEAWOOD 5 Nov 1810 Cheadle
Wm BRIERLEY m Hannah STANSFIELD 24 Dec 1834 Mottram in Longdendale

Sorry but nothing for Bedson or Benson that fits.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for your information posted.

As far as I can ascertain, the first born was Alfred c 1819 in Denton and of more particular interest to me is William b 1823 also born in Denton Lancs both with parents as William Brierley and mother Hannah.

Thanks again

Norm

Hello Chris,
Are you able to help with a Stockport marriage please?
Between James Sefton - originally from Hanley, Stoke, and Lydia (sorry no maiden surname) orig. from Chapel-en-le-Frith.  Eldest boy Samuel born in Stockport around 1813, so am presuming the marriage was near that time  as well.
Thanks, hopefully
