Hi Jean

Thanks to all your help & some lucky breaks my "cousins" & I are currently making good progress down this line.

Could I ask for a look-up of a marriage between:

John Oldham (hatter) & Margaret

probably Cheadle, Heaton Norris, Stockport, Handforth area, probably before 1810.

Son Charles is baptised at Heaton Norris in 1811.

Many thanks
SandraC

Hi Jean

I'll plump initially for Margaret Hoult / Holt as this fits my scheme & explains why Charles Holt is living with the Oldhams prior to his death.

Many thanks again

Thanks Jean

I'll see if I can get the Register copy & see if it looks right.

That might be it for a while now!

I am new to Rootschat and posted a Cheshire request but I'm not sure where it went!
However, I am looking for a marriage c 1836 of Thomas hamnett and Elizabeth/Betty ???. They lived in an area of Cheshire called Chorley. I do not know which Parish that was in, in 1836. Any assistance would be appreciated. Dignity.

Hello Dignity and welcome to Rootschat!

Here is the link to your previous post where people have posted some census lookups for you:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,340482.msg2194599.html#msg2194599

I can't see a relevant marriage on the indexes although they are not complete.  Given the data on your other thread it is also possible that the marriage took place after civil registration started on 1st July 1837 but I can't see anything obvious.

There are 2 Chorley's in Cheshire, but again from your post I guess that this is the one you are looking for information on:
