Hi Chris ,
May I take up your offer on the Marriage Registers?

Can you find a marriage of a James Worrall to a Margaret in Great Budworth from 1690 to 1700?

Can you confirm that Thomas Worrall married Margaret Booth in Great Budworth on 22 Jun 1654?

Thanks
Paul aka Rubbish

Hi Paul,

Neither marriage is on the index - but it isn't complete.  Closest is:

James WORRALL m Esther HATTON 10 May 1716 at Great Budworth

Thanks for looking, Jean. May I request another lookup.  Same chap, Joseph Whittingham, to an ANN sometime in the 1730s.  Middlewich again.

Many thanks

Jayson

Hi Jayson,

Doesn't seem to be there.  There are these:

Joseph WHITTINGHAM m Hannah SHAW 2 Jan 1727 Brereton St Oswald (old date format) or
John WITTINGHAM m Hannah HULSE 4 Jul 1731 Middlewich St Michael

Hi Chris, Would appreciate your help on locating the marriage of William Beresford (b.abt 1776, d.1858). marriage to Mary Ann? around 1795 to 1798. They were both from Church Lawton, Cheshire and I believe they were married there too. They had 11 children. I have no record of their marriage but would assume Church Lawton. Note: His son was a William who also married a Mary! Thanks in anticipation.

Hello Nigel,

I can't see an obvious marriage - I've checked BERESFORD, BERISFORD, BERRESFORD & BERRISFORD - this is the closest:

Wm BERRISFORD, Miller m Mary BATE, sp 13 Jul 1797 at Astbury

Hi Jean,
Thanks for the look up on the William Beresford marriage. Looks like the missing link to me as I have him as a Miller from 1798-1817 in my files! The first born was 1798 which probably makes it conclusive. The Mary Bate was probably a local in Astbury which is relatively close. The name as you note has several variations. Thanks for you help.

Hi Jean

Would you be able to look for any references to Hugh Wade in the marriage index?

Many thanks!

Hi Jayson,

I'm sorry, there is no reference to Hugh Wade on my indexes.  In fact the only reference I can find is on Pallot's marriage index for Hugh Wade and Isabella Brummage at Bloomsbury St George in 1815 - no other information given.  You must have some of the most elusive family lines in Cheshire!  ???
