Cheshire Parish Records Marriages only pre 1837

Hi,
I was wondering if it might be possible for you to look up some Cheshire marriages for me please? I hope the information I have is not too vague.

Samuel Kynaston (also spelled Kiniston/Kinison) and Margaret Rigby married around 1780/1790 in Davenham or Chester

Jonathan Kynaston and Mary? married before 1831 in Chester

James Kynaston and Ellen/Ellinor/Elizabeth ? married around 1750 in Chester

John Blackburn and ? married before 1799 in Chester

John Shone and Ann? married before 1813 in Chester

Any information you can find would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tracy,

I don't know about Mottram, but the records are for the  time before civil registration began (i.e. pre 1837).

Once the marriage is found in the civil registration index you're out of luck I'm afraid.

A Benjamin Hague c. 1803 m Elizabeth(Betty) ? c. 1803
They lived in Stalybridge and were born Stalybridge, so am assuming they married there.
Their first child (that I can trace) was born in 1825..... so am assuming they married around 1823-24??

Is there anything listed?

Hi Tracy,

Stovepipe is correct that the indexes only go up to 1837 pre civil registration.  However the marriage is also at www.cheshirebmd.org.uk which gives the church as Godley St John, so easier if you want to request a separate lookup.
