Hi Chris,

Do you have a marriage record for John Brandwood who married Mary Alcock, probably sometime between 1825 and 1835?

Most grateful if you could have a look amongst the Parish records for Marton-by- Congleton and Siddington for any information on the Potts  (or Pott) family.  I understand that there was a Joseph Pott(s) who was Parish Clerk at Marton in the early 1800's. Tks

Hi Thomas
I only have the marriage indexes pre 1837, the townships and churches of Marton and Siddington would be indexed under the umberella of the mother parish, Prestbury St.Peters. If you had a christian name for Josephs wife I could search for a marriage.

Hi Peter,

I've traced my Cartwright line to a William Cartwright who was reportedly born in Nantwich (although the 51 and 61 censuses have his birthplace as Willaston) in approx. 1796 (he died in December 1873 aged 77 on his Death Certificate, although aged 80 in the Parish Records).

But then the line goes cold.

Do you have any marriages that might help me trace his parents?

Or do you have either of his marriages? He was first married to an Ann Davies who was buried 18.8.1827 aged 34. He then married Martha Brown, who was buried 29.1.1866, aged 61.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thankyou

Neil Cartwright

Hi Neil

Having searched the index I can only find a marriage for a William Cartwright and a Sarah Davis no Ann sorry, the wedding was on the 15-Nov-1819 at STAINTS Mary and Nicolas Nantwich, a copy of the entry could be obtained from the Chester RO, this may give you the parents names. There are to many Cartwright weddings in Cheshire to try and guess the right parents.

good luck and get back to us if you find a parent.

Hi Jackie

I have records of marriages at Taxal St.James and I think its complete for the years 1808-1837, and there is no sign of a John Porter marrying there, checked all other areas as well with no results, also checked for any Porter marriages at Taxal and there dosn't seem to have been any.

SORRY
