Cheshire Parish Records Marriages only pre 1837

Chris I have very little information for you but just might luck out.

On August 22, 1858 Ahasuerus Kirkpatrick married Mary Bamforth at St. John's Church in the parish of Stockport.   His father was Henry Kirkpatrick (miner) and her father was Joseph Bamforth (weaver).  Do you have a marriage on either father that I may find their spouses names?

I would love a bit of help on a probable Cheshire marriage before 1804. John Roberts' marriage to Fanny. Fanny was born in Neston, Cheshire, as were at least 2 of their eldest children (William being the eldest known child born 1803/04 in Neston). They later moved to Tarbock, Lancs where their younger children were born.

I'd very much appreciate any help with this, as I can't locate St Mary's records online.

Hi Barb,

Can't see anything obvious, have you tried posting on the lookup board for the 1851 and 1841 census?  It might just give a little more to go on....

No other children on IGI, but could you have a quick look for a marriage between Joannis/John Wakefield and Elizabeth, c1718?

Sorry, nothing that early I'm afraid - the indexes are much thinner on the ground pre 1757 - although sometimes you can get lucky!  .

John ROBERTS m Frances HOPLEY 1798 Plemstall St Peter - sorry, for some reason the full date isn't on the index, but hope it is of some help,

Thanks so much for that, Jean... as you probably discovered, there is no record of John & Frances marrying in Neston, so this 1798 marriage looks like a good avenue to follow up on.
