Hi

Thanks for that Jean, Ill keep that as a maybe, as Welsby only seems to be in that area, about that time very rarely, so this is a good chance it might be the same one.

Hi Chris
Mary Angell b. 1622 Crowhurst, Surrey married a John Hardware of Peele Hall, Tarvin on 25 November 1655 at St Bride, Fleet St, London.  He died in 1661 in Cheshire and Mary went on to marry John Hockenhull, also of Tarvin, on 11 Sept 1669 at Crowhurst, Surrey.  Mary and John Hardware had a son, Henry, born 1661 (he was 3 month when his father died).

Can you find a marriage for this Henry, or for any other children Mary may have had with John Hockenhull?

Also any chance of identifying the parents of both John's? ;)

Hi James,

I can't see a marriage for Henry on the index (not complete though) but there is this:

Katherine HARDWARE m Matthew HENERYS 19 Jul 1687 at Tarvin.  There is a note in the comment to say she was "Mrs" so possibly a widow.

The second marriage of Mary to John HOCKENHULL must be in the Tarvin parish register as well as it appears on the index with the same date.  According to your dates Mary would have been 47 at the time of her second marriage so it is probably unlikely that there were any more children.

Thanks Jean for your help.
I know a lot of Tarvin Parish records were lost in a fire in the village in the 1600's and I suspect I won't be able to link all the information I have on the Hardwares.  But I will certainly follow up on Katherine Hardware, you never know.... it could be a cousin of Henry.

Great site. :)

Hello Jean

I don't know if you can help me as I don't have much information.

John WRIGHT married a Hannah (unknown) would have been 1815-1819 in Lymm, Cheshire.

ALSO

Joseph JACKSON married Mary (unknown) circa 1822/3 first child born 1824.  High Legh, Cheshire  definately spelt HIGH LEGH and not Leigh.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Joan

Hi Joan,

Nothing for John WRIGHT and Hannah in the right timescale - the parish records for Lymm are online here at http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/

Closest I can find:

Jos. JACKSON m Mary WILLIAMSON 27 Dec 1814 Rostherne
Jos. JACKSON m Mary PERCIVAL 18 Dec 1820 Cheadle

Hi I have just discovered this site am I right in thinking someone out there can look up a marraige for me?  If so any chance of finding one for Kate Reynolds also previously known as Roberts to Alf Williams probably in Eastham Parish Church somewhere between 1881 and 1886.  Family history tells us that Kate's birth surname was Roberts and she is registered as such on the 1871 Census but she married someone with the surname Reynolds who turned out to be a bigamist so the marraige was void.  However on the 1881 Census she is listed as Reynolds and as a widow.  The children's birth certificates show Roberts and Reynolds both as previous names.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
