Hi guys,

Was wondering if someone could look up the marriage registers for:

Thomas Fletcher (widower) marrying Mary ? in Bunbury between 1800-1837

Joseph Fletcher and Rebecca ? in Bunbury area between 1815-1837

Thanks so much :)

Jenny

Sorry Jenny, neither marriage is on the indexes.

Hi Richard and welcome to Rootschat.  :)

The resources used for the lookups on here are indexes so there often isn't any more information than you already have.  I can confirm that the marriage is on the index and that the date you have is the same as the one on the index and that it took place at Wilmslow.  With the information you have you could order a copy of the parish register entry from Cheshire Record Office - they charge £1.00 per copy plus postage and are quoting a 15 day turnaround at the moment - they have an online ordering facility.

Hope this helps,

Jean

Could you please look up the marriage of John Roberts to Margaret. He was a blacksmith in Willaston.

The first baptism record I 've found for a child of John and Margaret is in 1804 so I suppose they would have been married a little while before that.

I have found a marriage on the IGI for a John Roberts and Margaret Smith in 1813 but it seems a bit late, although they did have triplets in 1817.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi Jean,

Can I pester you yet again for another marriage look up?
It's James Mair and Ann? I would think between 1825 and 1830.

Thank you,
Pat.

Many thanks Jean.
That certainly looks like a possible marriage.
I've had a look on the map and Eastham isn't far from Williaston.

Another question if I may. What does married by licence mean?

Regards
