Hi Chris,

I don't know if you can help, it would appear that my tree may be incorrect    I believe my 3 x Great Grandparents to be Thomas Oakes bapt. 15-10-1797 at St. Chads Over Cheshire, married 20-6-1819 Over, to Ann Brown bapt 13-5-1794 Davenham Cheshire.
I have Thomas Brown married to Sarah Barber as Ann's parents (unfortunately no details as yet).
The problem starts with Thomas' parents  I believe them to be John Oakes bapt. 20-6-1770 at St. Chads married 21-3-1791 Sandbach Cheshire to Mary Rowley bapt. 20-4-1769 Taxel Cheshire, this is currently being queried by a fellow researcher at the moment. Also John Oakes parents whom I have as John Oakes bapt. 19-5-1749 Sandbach, Cheshire married 1-2-1768 in Over by Middlewich to Jane Egerton bapt 3-8-1740 Frodsham.

  The result of this information being incorrect would change a huge amount of my tree starting with John Oakes siblings and working backwards through his "parents" and back another two generations to Samuel Oakes c1674 Cheshire wife unknown.

I just need all the help I can get, so anything would be apprieciated hope you can help, thank you.

Hi Chris, hope you can help - looking for several marriage dates.  George Wakefield born 1749, died 1829,and Ann[aka Nancy] surname unknown born1742, died1844. They lived Kingsley/Newton area.  Also William Banner and Eleanor Yewd or Youd, no specific dates, but around same time, possiblya little later, than Wakefield couple.  One more - George Joinson[Joynson] born 1783 in Horton cum Peele?, died 1873 in Lower Whitley, and Nancy[aka Ann] surname unknown, born1785, died 1847, married before 1808 maybe. The information I have is only an index, but with that information you could try an email to Cheshire Records Office and ask for the details - for a small fee you can get a photocopy of the entry.  The father's name isn't recorded on the early records, but witnesses are, and that could be a help.

I'm looking for a marriage between Thomas Nelson & Martha ? abt 1780 ish.

IGI has a submitted entry for a marriage of Thomas Nelson & Martha Bushell in 1779 at Backford but I wondered if there were any other possibles in the area.  My 4xGgrandmother Lydia was baptised in Backford in 1792.
