Yes John.  I have found some notes I made about Sarah Jane.

Her parents were John Lawson born Lythe 1815 and her mother was Jane Lawson (Robinson) born Lythe 1818.  John's parents were John and Margaret Lawson.   Sarah Jane's siblings were John, Margaret, Robert and William.

That's all I have at the moment.

Hi Val,

Very interesting, this looks like one of the John Lawsons from my tree. Baptised 1 Oct 1815 Hutton Mulgrave, parents John Lawson b1779 and Margaret Corner.

I just looked in the IGI but couldn't find the marriage of John b1815 and Jane Robinson b1818. I guess Sarah Jane's siblings are probably in the IGI because I found her in there. I'd love to hear where you got the details on this family from.

All the best,
JB.

Hi Val,

I can see this family in the IGI and various census years now, along with a few other children: Mary Anne (looks like she may have died an infant), Hannah Mary, Eliza A and Thomas. Not sure why I overlooked this family in the past.

What I can't find is any record of the marriage between John 1815 and Jane Robinson 1818. I guess this probably happened after the Lythe marriage records in the IGI finish (1837). Did you obtain their marriage certificate to find out Jane was a Robinson? I guess it's more likely that you got this from Sarah Jane's birth certificate actually.

All the best,
JB.

Hi John,

I get my information from Ancestry.co.uk and also Family Search Organisation.

Marriage of John Lawson and Jane Robinson took place in Whitby first quarter 1839  Vol.24 Page 457.

How do you get your information before 1837, by going through parish registers I suppose.   Unfortunately I'm in Australia and unable to do that.   I've hit a brick wall with my Rodgers(Rogers) because the Loftus records aren't on Ancestry as yet.

You've given me a bit more information about the Lawsons now so I've taken note of that. Thanks John.

Hi Val,

Yes I've been using the Lythe parish registers available on CD. I think they are also on Ancestry these days. I'll check whether my CD contains the Loftus records.
