Enumerators Self Portrait ??

I have just been looking at 1851 census :-
Northamptonshire , Eydon , District 11 - description of enumeration district ....H.0 107/1735 .

Made me jump !!!

Pity he didn't put as much effort into his description.!!

I dont know if its allowed but if someone whats to copy it into the posting would save folks looking it up .

Cant say as i have ever come across a doodling before

I dont really know what to think of it but i would imagine that would be how an 'educated' person would look at around that time with the high hat .
Could be himself , or someone he has seen on his rounds or he has let someone have a sketch .

The artist could of at least signed it !!

An interesting little find though

my thoughts are, its a pity all enumerators did'nt have to draw all of the persons in each household, how lovely would that be,

as you well know chui, thier writing had something to be desired never mind drawing.

That's so cool!  I've never come across anything even remotely that interesting.  Usually, like Kali, I wonder if the enumerator could even write, let alone draw
