 Help please, I'm looking for my Grandfathers parents, I know his father was called George Brown. I think my Grandfather Bertie James was born in the last quater of 1873, he married Ann Maria Hockley 29 March 1897,]

Explain my previous.

There are very few Brown in Goldhanger.

Bertie born 1873;  Search 1881, only close match is above.

Assume John & Herbert are brothers.

Is John on the 1871 census?   Yes!   [well, very probable]

Now we have the parents - father IS George.

Death not known.
They had Six Children,

George Brown (Berties father)
Born 1834 in Rawreth
Married to Ann Wade  17th Sept 1864 at St Peters Church Goldhanger
He died in 1902 in Goldhanger.
They had 5 children
Rachel 1st November 1864
William Sept 1867
John Oct 1870
Bertie 10 Nov 1873
Ernest  1877.

Ann Wade was the Daughter of Joseph Wade (My Ancestor) and HANNAH COLLARD Joseph's second wife.

I have a lot more info on Browns moving towards the present time, but nothing back before George.
