Hi Jane

Have checked the BIVRI for the period 1750 - 1830

There is not 1 single baptism of a child of Richard & Sarah or of a James & Sarah listed anywhere.

Obviously this must have been one of the registers that was not avaible to the LDS when the photographed and transcribed them

Hi Jane & Chris,     Thanks for your input.

Would you think there is a high possibility that Richard & Sarah Wicks were the parents of James?  Is there any other place to look for baptisms that took place in Maresfield?

I have wondered about the BVRI.  Just how good is it?  Appreciate ideas.     Thanks again.       Marie

Hi Marie,
I'm not familiar with the BVRI, but as I understand it, it's by no means complete.  You could contact the Sussex Family History Group http://www.sfhg.org.uk/
and see if they can help.  I know this might sound obvious but have you searched the LDS site?

Sarah WICKS (nee MANNERS) was buried at Lewes St John's (S-C) on the 19th Feb 1854 age 73 'from the poorhouse, All Saints'.
