Wynne/Elliott Look-up in Bronington
« on: Saturday 04 March 06 10:42 GMT (UK) »
My Wynne line in Burslem, Staffordshire comes from Flintshire originally.

William Wynne was born about 1840 in Bronington (sometimes it says Whitchurch or Hanmer).

All his siblings were also born in this area: Ann (abt.1832), John (abt. 1834), Thomas (abt.1843), Henry Levi (abt.1847).

His parents were also born in the same area: Joseph (abt.1807) and Martha (abt.1803)--I believe her maiden name was Elliott because William had an uncle (Henry Elliott abt.1812) staying with him on one of the censuses (he was also born in this same area). In 1851 they were living in Bronington.

I'm hoping to learn more about this family. Does anyone have access to the 1841 census? Does anyone also do research on this family?

I'm very much interested in learning about Joseph's parents and to know if Martha's maiden name was Elliott and about her parents.

Hi Gil,
Can you give me the info from the 1851 census please and next week I'll have a look on the 1841 for you, I'll also see if I can find any baptisms.

Paul.

From the 1851 census in Bronington, District 3, page 16

Joseph Wynne 44 (abt. 1807) Flint, Bronington (He is a tailor)
Martha             44 (abt. 1807) Flint, Bronington
Ann                  19 (abt. 1832) Flint, Bronington
John                 17 (abt. 1834) Flint, Bronington
William             11 (abt. 1840) Flint, Bronington
Thomas              9 (abt. 1842) Flint, Bronington
Henry Levi          4 (abt. 1847) Flint, Bronington

This information is pretty consistent with the later censuses.
