Tricker's in Great Bentley Essex and Latford
« on: Friday 03 March 06 20:02 GMT (UK) »
Please someone help me, I'm really new to this forum.

I'm in search of my family tree, I know my Grandfather was born in Great Bentley. I think his name might be Leslie William Tricker. I think he was born 1919, but i think he died before i was born, which was 1981. I'm not 100% sure on the details and will correct if needed when i find out more information.

The other family name i'm researching is Latford, my grandad (on my mothers side) was Clifford Charles Latford, born 23rd May 1936 and died April 2000. I though Latford would be easy to find but can't find anything past my Grandad.

Thank you in advance

Hi

Family History can get expensive so be prepared - copy certificates cost £7.

Leslie W Tricker - There is a birth for a Leslie W Tricker in the December quarter 1919 Ref: Tendring Volume 4A  Page number is either 1598 or 1596 - indistinct.  Mothers maiden name was Watcham

A copy of his birth cert which will give you his parents names.

It's very possible that his parents will be on the 1901 census - probably still single -  so when you reach that stage, you need to post a message on this board with the details and we will look them up for you

Re: Latford - his birthdate was 23 5.1932 not 1936 according to the death registration.  The GRO index confirms this and his mothers maiden name was Walsby.  The reference is June quarter 1932 Hackney Volume 1B Page 584

Again - a copy of his birth cert will give his parents names.  Unfortunately, you may not find his parents on the 1901 census as they may have been born after 1901 - it's difficult to say at this stage

When you find his parents names, you can look for their marriage on the GRO index which is free to search at www.ancestry.co.uk

It then means buying a copy of their marriage cert to find their fathers names so you can back track further

Thank you so much for your help,

I've found out through my father that my grandad was Walter Tricker, he was born 1930 in Great Bentley. His father was federick Tricker, born 1889 married Emily Newman. Born and lived in great Oakley. I think this Lesley W Tricker was his brother.

There is some one that i'm interested in finding some information about, and that is Charles Boltwood, who is my great grandfather. He was born 1894, married Florence Nunn. I've been told he was a WW1 war hero, and received two bravery medals.

Thank you again

Both my 3x Great Grandfather and my 2x Great Grandad was both named Frederick. I'm Guessing the son was 2x great grandfather and the head of the family was my 3x Great Granfather.

I was also told by my father that my 3x grandmother died quite earlie. My 3x Grandfather remarried.

I'd also looked Frederick head in some earlie cencus, and came up with him age 18 and his father was a Samuel Tricker. Born 1836.
