Does anyone recognise the name William Common who married Jane Stewart in Edinburgh on 28/11/1873?

My ggrandmother, Margaret (Common) Gardner was b  1855 in Canongate, Edinburgh. Father was George Common b 1829 Greenlaw, Berwick d 1875 Canongate. Mother was Janet Wilson b 1833 Edinburgh d 1877 Canongate.
Siblings: Andrew, Mary, David, Jeannie who all stayed in Scotland. Some Stewarts reported in family.

From what I've discovered Common is an unusual name. I did find a pocket of them in the Scottish Borders. It seems as if William and Jane left Edinburgh after their marriage as I can find no record of children nor details in subsequent census records.
George Common may well have been an uncle of my William Common - the Canongate is a stones through from where Jane Stewart lived at that time.
If I can make the connection I'll let you know.

I have a Janet Stewart b 1802 Edinburgh m to John Cristie b 1796 in Scotland with a child Catherine Christie b 4 June 1826. Catherine m Myles Gardner b 1825. Myles was my gg Grandfather. Don't know if a connection? ?

The Common surname is not a common name at all, but very difficult to do a search for ! (Due to the word common being used so often)

I'm also looking up the Common tree, but my links seem to go back to the Hutton, Melrose & Bowden parts of Scotland.  But not one William amongst them.

From my 1901 info of Commons in England, the ony Scottish born, that I have found, are:

& Mary B Common Born 1862 in Scotland Living in Sunderland

William Common Born 1849 in Scotland Living in Heaton      
& Janet Common Born 1857 in Scotland Living in Heaton
