Hi Judith
I have spent absolutely ages trying to find our correspondence Re your Quin & Ankers.I finally remembered today we are using P.M's. One of the reasons i don't encourage P.M's for none personnel posts is that is what happens they get lost. Plus you cant see all the posts.
Anyway what i wanted to say was the library has finally opened today. Over the holiday i had a look in a few Cheshire/wales directories available on line before i go today As the Anker family were in Foulk Stapleford/Hargrave in the vicinity of Chester in 1881.I spent a long time looking for them(website very slow) As there are only three four Ankers in any one book in the Chester area.I feel these must be yours or at the very least be connected.
1868 North & South Wales and the City of Chester only one Anker he was. William Anker of the Golden Lion Vaults 13, high Street Wrexham
1902. I found 3 Miss Ankers, Frogs Tavern Chester (occupations) no address
In Huxley, David Ankers a cowkeeper,
In Crew a Mrs B. Ankers of 33, Nelson Street Crew, could she be Davids wife. To check up and see if David is yours.Ask for a lookup for David Ankers 1901 he should be he should be 30 and born Waverton. I will be back here later, Celia P.S you have other Quinn/Anker Topics where are the?
