Hi Peter you have looked for me before with no success, but I thought it might be worth one more go, her fathers name was John and she was born in 1834.

I did find an Ann Quinn living in Liscard with a John Quinn as her father and a Martha as her Mother and wondered whether this could be Catherine.

Thank you for this information alli.

I am not sure if this is Catherine but it is the closest I have got to finding her.  On her marriage certificate it has got Neston Cheshire as her birth place.  On census records it has Parkgate, Lancashire and Cheshire.  Her father's name was John and he was a joiner according to the marriage cert.  The age of this Catherine is right.  Now I have to think of a way of confirming if this is the right Catherine.

I did find a family of Quinn's in Neston but no sign of Catherine, I went to the records office in Chester but could find no sign of her there either.

Thanks again

Judith

Hi Judith
I have spent absolutely ages trying to find our correspondence Re your Quin & Ankers.I finally remembered today we are using P.M's. One of the reasons i don't encourage P.M's for none personnel posts is that is what happens they get lost. Plus you cant see all the posts.
Anyway what i wanted to say was the library has finally opened today. Over the holiday i had a look in a few Cheshire/wales directories available on line before i go today As the Anker family were in Foulk Stapleford/Hargrave in the vicinity of Chester in 1881.I spent a long time looking for them(website very slow) As there are only three four Ankers in any one book in the Chester area.I feel these must be yours or at the very least be connected.
1868 North & South Wales and the City of Chester only one Anker he was. William Anker of the Golden Lion Vaults 13, high Street Wrexham
1902. I found 3 Miss Ankers, Frogs Tavern Chester (occupations) no address
In Huxley, David Ankers a cowkeeper,
In Crew a Mrs  B. Ankers of 33, Nelson Street Crew, could she be Davids wife.  To check up and see if David is yours.Ask for a lookup for David Ankers 1901 he should be he should be 30 and born Waverton. I will be back here later,    Celia P.S you have other Quinn/Anker Topics where are the?

Hi Celia

Looks like I am causing you all sorts of problems :-[

The David Ankers you mentioned, I am pretty sure is one of mine.

I have to wait until Monday before I can go to the archives office as they are fully booked until then.

Sorry if I sound a bit of out of it but what do you mean about the other Ankers/Quinn topics?
