Dear Peter,

Many thanks for looking this up for me. I know that they used to spell the Brimelow name differently all the time.

This james  could have been a brother or cousin.

Maybe they were still in Martin's Croft  were John was born, which I think is in Warrington.

Do you think its worth a shoot looking in the warrington 1841 census? I think I can order a film in through the LDS church for this.

Kind regards

This thread started with an address - 1 Queen Street. By chance, my grandmother lived at '3 and 1 Queen St', Civil parish of Brinnington in 1881. Her family were bakers. Does anyone know where Queen Street was. I have a very vague memory of my grandmother telling me that she used to live 'down Portwood' when she was a child. I note there is a Queen Street round the back of what is now the Peel Centre. Would this be the right street?
