I like the skin tone there Harry, what hue, saturation, and brightness did you use?
Though I think a few too many wrinkles were removed to be perfectly honest.

From what I can make out the photographer appears to be G.E.Cassinello of Bush Hill Park Enfield. There was a G. Cassinello (Photographer) working out of 49 Dartmouth Road Forest Hill about the 1908 period. With the unusual surname I wonder if it is the one and the same who took the above photograph.

I would agree with Keith about the date and would say that it would be about circa 1910.

skin tone was from hue 22 sat 25 lightness 0 base line...with another layer for highlights..think I blurred it a bit much..did not look so "pasty" on my original..I'll have a go at putting some sharpness back..see if that looks better.

If you want an uncompressed version just e-mail or PM me.

Hi folks,
I think you're doing OK without me on the dating side of things!  :D
I was going to say around 1895-1905 for this one.  She is wearing a high collar and puffy shoulders to the sleeves, which was fashionable around the mid 1890s, but of course being a little older she may have worn them for longer, after they went out of fashion.  I've looked for Mr Cassinello, but like rowley I've only come across his Forest Hill address, which is at the other end of London  :-\  Looking at a few trade directories shows he was at Forest Hill at least between 1891 and 1911, so now I'm really not so sure about the dates, but it's the best I can do.

P.S. For an age, a guesstimate would be between 50 and 60, but I'm terrible at guessing ages and have got myself into awful trouble with it in the past!!  Now I only attempt it with photos of people who I know are not going to bite my head off!! ;D

hi folks
thank you all for the input for gt grandma, it,s interesting re the photographer, i would like to think she was up to the mark fashion wise, but i don,t think they were particularly well off so maybe she did hang on to things a bit longer, i,m going to see if i can find out a bit more about the photographer, i have another photo of a gt uncle as a lad, and would like to know what age he might be when this was taken, really appreciate your help
