i think you should scrap Caroline until a link can be proved Baker isn't all that uncommon surname
well don't scarp her entirely just put her to the back of your mind

James Baker  was a Shoemaker and he was born in Essex
next door to their family was a William Baker an Ag lab and his little family
they can be foundon the ref i previously posted
(1841)
no Caroline in any of the families there is however a Susan aged 23 so not James or Williams daughter - sister maybe??? who knows
