Trevetts
« on: Tuesday 28 February 06 07:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I'm looking for information on the Trevetts living in Winterborne St Martin/Winterborne Steepleton area in the late 1700's.  In particular the parents of Mary Trevett who was born around 1780 in Winterborne Steepleton. I understand this area was known later as Martinstown. Mary married John Bowring (born abt. 1778 in Winterborne St Martin - parents William and Aidra Bowring).

Any info would be much appreciated.

Regards

Helen

Frances I think it probably is but many thanks for looking.  I suspect they are related so I'd be very grateful if you could post the names of the other siblings.

Hi My husband is a Bowring and his Father did the tree before he died and we have a john bowring and Mary trevett in our tree  :) johns parents were Elizabeth lovelace and john bowring . are they the same as your ones ? I was very interested in the names you have Aidra and William  as I have not heard of Aidra before. There are so many bowrings but the ones my hubby comes from are winterbourne steepleton bowrings in Dorset too.
Would love to hear from you if you have info or want to swap info . :)
regards
Glenda

I don't have anything on the Trevett's before the mid 1800's but my great great aunt Sabina Shepard married Walter Trevett (1847-1891) in 1887. She was born in Stratton and lived for some of her life in Martinstown. She had one child with Walter Trevett he was Henry Walter Trevett born in 1890.
