My gran and grandad - both in ladies knickers!
« on: Monday 27 February 06 17:41 GMT (UK) »
Well here does - my first ever attempt to load an image.

My gran and grandad appear in this photo which only came to light yesterday through an aged aunt, sister to Reg in the photo.  I've done lots to it already to get rid of lots of cracks and scratches but am now at the limit of my skills.  Can anyone else take over please to remove some of those brown and blue marks?

Thanks

Hmm - can't get the picture to show - will have to go through that tutorial again.

Now trying it as an attachment.  Will resize the original and hopefully attach that too - - - one day!

Must have been censored!!!  ;D

As large as possible - plus might be worth putting the original one on as well

Cheers

Hi debycoles,

I usually manage to remove things from photos I shouldn't  - but can you tell me what is the string and chimney on your Gran's hat?

Cheers

Hmm I didn't really know either.

I looks from the photo as it the hat has a small flag on the top rather like a sandcastle flag.  The stick sticking out of her head is something in the background I think, and the string off to the left is also rather odd - perhaps a washing line in the background but it is rather distracting isn't it.  The string seems to be tied around the 'spike' at the back of her head, so that's why I think it might be the washing line and supporting pole.

Feel free to leave them in or take them out - which ever is easier.

Hi debycoles,

I think looking at your grandparents it definitely confirms my opinion about the older generation knowing how to enjoy themselves.
As one or two of you might know ( ;)) I have a website - so look here to see what I think about them having fun etc:
http://batemans-history.rootschat.net/preconceivedideas.htm

Anyway 2 photos - one before colour - so anyone else can have a go - but do be more observant than I was  - Gran's right arm has a stain on it - she is not wearing Grandad's costume!

Cheers

Of don't they look fantastic - I only wish I knew them when they were younger.  Grandad died when I was about 4 and my gran was always fun bt elderly.  I was saying to my husband last night - if I had a time machine I wouldn't go back to important events in history, I would go back to see my parents and my grandparents when they were young and fun - before they had children and got compeltely worn out!

Any chance of removing those funny stains from grandads 'outfit' - they are blue discolouration on the photo, not patterns on his underwear.

Thanks ever so.  Lovely job indeed.

Ohhh No  ;D ;D

I spent hours colouring that bit  :D

I thought they were harlequin type knickers - I told you I take thing out when I shouldn't  - now I leave things in when they SHOULD be taken out!!
I still think he looks better in blue - but..............

Cheers
