My great(x5)-grandfather, John Wild, was married at St Margaret's in Tanfield, late 1763.  The family lived at Northorn before moving to Havanah.

Hi,

I have a bunch of GRAHAMs from Tanfield in my tree throughout most of the currently available census years. They originated in Cumberland (last seen in Gilcrux and Plumbland) but my branch ended up in Tanfield. One of them married a GRIFFIN from nearby Dipton/Collierly.

JB.

Is there someone who could look up the death records of my gg grandparents
John Renton, born about 1816 in Ford Northumberland, he was a teacher, parents unknown.
also Jane (Blaxton) Harrison/Renton born about 1805 Lamesley.
They both appear on the 1861 census for Leadgate in the Parish of Alston. They were presented with a Tea and Coffee Service inscribed
This Tea and Coffee Service
were presented to
Mr and Mrs Renton
by the parents and friends of
their pupils of Leadgate School for
the faithful manner in which
they have discharged their duties
as Master and Mistress
during the last 9 years June 24th 1863

There were Renton's in Ford, NBL .  Here is one baptism--maybe it is yours I don't know but gives you some names to work with:  John Renton bapt 1 Dec 1812 son of William, Smith, Ford Forge, by his wife Margaret.

And a burial that helps define those parents:  William Renton died 22 Dec , buried 24 Dec 1812. of Ford Forge, son of William Renton, blacksmith by his wife Margaret late Greerfield (I think-the first letter was struck over). aged ? (didn't come out)
