NIGELG

Hi Jan

Sorry this is a bit vague. I've (finally) traced my Gx5 Grandfather's birth to parents William & Hannah Lloyd in Montford Bridge - bap. 2 Dec 1798. Known siblings 2 brothers John born 1794 & William 1796.

I had great trouble finding Richard on the Census and finally tracked him down living in Birmingham on the 1841 & 51 Census.

I'm trying to find his parents on the 1841 census (a long shot) but I'm not sure if he moved to Birmingham with his parents and siblings or just with his own family, leaving his parents and siblings in Montford.

I have a suspicion that his parents may have died between 1812 & 1841 and so to help narrow the search down, if a burial register exists for Montford Bridge between 1812 & 1841 is it possible to look for a burial of a William & a Hannah Lloyd?

They were married in 1791 so I suspect they were born c1770 - probably born in Montford area.

If there's not too many, any other information on other Lloyd burials recorded in Montford Bridge would also be appreciated.

Hope you don't mind - if any of this doesn't make sense feel free to drop me a PM :)

There was burials for Montford afterall!! Sorry for the confusion.

Unfortunately, I could't find William or Hannah but there are a large number of films to look through and I didn't have time to check every single one.

I did start to look for other Lloyd burials in Montford and I was surprised to find loads.  Too many for me to take details and type here!!!!!!

If you can find out some more information - perhaps narrow down the burial years - I would be more than happy to check again for you.

After using a Reader for a few hours the eyesight starts failing ;D

Jan - many thanks for checking this for me.

Unfortunately I don't have any other dates than "..between 1812 & 1841.." which isn't much help at all really!

I'll have to do some more digging around and if I find out anything to narrow the dates down, I'll let you know, however, I am beginning to suspect they may have moved to Brum!

Great fun this eh!?

Thanks - you are a star! ;D

Hi Jan
 :'(
Many thanks for taking the trouble to look for me, even though you were unsuccessful. It was a very kind offer and I'm pleased you had good luck with other peoples requests.

Put your feet up now and give your brain a little rest!!

Thank you s. g. d for finding what you did. I shall certainly try to follow that up.

Love

Hi again Jan,
It would appear that I must have had one of those so called 'Senior Moments'. :o     When I saw the reply in my mail box this morning I had another look at my calendar and guess what - I have missed three whole days hence my gross dating error. Sorry about that, have duly updated my calendar and look forward to hearing from you -  8) - whenever .
Many thanks once again.
George.

I'm so glad that I have been able to help some of you with your research.  It's given me great pleasure knowing that I have been successful (well, with some of the requests anyway).

When I know for definite when I can go the to Archives again I will start a new thread......so watch this Board.
