I just caught this message. Do you have an Edward Ridgard b 1783 Manchester on your tree.  I believe I have him in the 1851 census in South Wales via his daughter Elinor Lewis nee Redgard ( but clearly looks like Ridgard on the original). I am also looking for a marriage between an Edward Ridgard and a Jane?. Any help would be much appreciated. Renu

sorry Renu, my line goes back to derbtyshire in the 1780's, with a John Ridgard. I don't have an Edward then.

Any of the 1851 records for Manchester were damaged or destroyed. I've searched the 1851 free census records with no success. Sorry...

The above post should start "Many", not "Any"!
