Thankyou for the above infomation.
I have since recieved marriage cert for James and Ann they are living at 4 mangle street in 1878,James was a widower when he married ann.on the marriage cert it says james was 30 and wife Ann 21.

Yes they are the family I am looking for ,going by the 1861 census for Ann Wellings

Thank you Carole,I have been trying to put all the family together but have got nowhere .
I also  know from the Marriage certificate that James Father was Archibld Graham,

 I was browsing through rootsweb and came across your posts for the graham family the ann wellings is my grt grandmother and went on to marry my grt grandfather george edward lamb so this was her first marriage to james graham,I was wondering also about the children and what happend to them.
