Hi all, I know this thread is probably dead but I believe I'm related, my grandmother is Ann (goes by Nancy) O'Shea (nee Carrigy) her brothers are Matt,Thomas,Basil,Sean,Peter and Noel and her father is Bernard and Mary (nee Reilly) if any of this sounds familiar lmk!
Hello, we are definitely related. I met your grandmother, Nancy, years ago, when I was a child. Her husband was Crohan O'Shea. Nancy's father was my Nanny's brother. My Nanny was Margaret Carrigy (1895-1976). She married my Grandad John Corbett.
I have fond memories of Nancy and Crohan. Nancy was very friendly and she was a pretty dark-haired lady. I think that Nancy's brother was Fr Sean, who died in California after being tragically hit by a car (I believe).
My father was Patrick Corbett (Nancy's cousin). He died suddenly aged 44 in 1975. I think that Nancy would have been at his funeral.
The Carrigys were lovely people.
It's lovely to be in touch!
Regards,
Ann Cobbold (nee Corbett).

Hi there, we are 3rd cousins.  My Mam was first cousins with your Grandmother ( I’ve met your Grandmother).   And I’ve visited the family home in Garriskill, Westmeath when your Great grandmother - Mary - was living there.   My Grandmother was her sister, Julia Daly.

Hello I wanted to share a letter I found in my dads files of our family history. It was written to my uncle in 1978 from M.E. Henneberry? M.E.'s father was Thomas Carrigy. Does anyone recognize these names. It says Thomas's mother was a Donohoe and my GG Grandmother is Catherine Donohoe (1816-1891from what I can gather). I would love to know if anyone has info for the Donohoe Family.
