Hello

In reply to the last posting, I remember both Alan and Steve Kinnish.  My aunt and uncle were the Kinnish's neighbours.  I used to visit the IOM every school holiday.   I always believed that Stephen was the youngest child of Robert Henry Kinnish and Jessie Kinnish.  My parents though informed me that this was not the case and that Stephen was the son of Madge Kinnish and John Keig.  Unsure about Alan, was he not Robert and Jessie's son.  Would be interested to find out if you are in touch with Steve Kinnish as I believe he moved from the Island to England.

Sorry I haven't been in contact with Stephen Kinnish for years, the last time I visited Man was in the 1950's.  I believe he lived in England.  I do remember Robert Henry Kinnish and Jessie.  I believe they both died in the 1970's.  Do you have an knowledge of Robert henry's father, also called Robert.  Unsure if he was a railway fitter or a farmer.

Cheers

Hello

This seems to be quite a hot topic, are all these people related?  As a family we were told that Robert Kinnish (Senior) was a farmer.  He did suffer a nervous breakdown at one point and was in hospital for a long period.  I am interested in teh comments about John Keig being Steve Kinnish's father, does the lady have any further information on this.  I knew John very well

Unfortunately I do not have any further information on this Frank.  My mother told me the story many years ago.  My mum died in the 1960's, she was living in the Isle of Man at the time of her death.  I had always believed that Stephen was the youngest son of Robert Henry and it came as a surprise to find out he was Madge Kinnish's son.  I never met John Keig, what is your connection with him?
I found it interesting what you said about Robert Henry kinnish's father as I always thought there was a farming connection.  Do you remember Alan Kinnish?

Hi

I foud the last couple of replies to be interesting, however, there are still many unanswered questions.  Do we know who John Keig is/was?  Can Frank give us further details on this please?  Another question that I would like to ask is this;
I was always under the impression that Robert Henry wanted his family home to remain in the family, wasn't it supposed to be left to one of his grandchildren?
One further question that I am keen to find out is about is Robert Kinnish senior.  I can vaguely remember a family story about him taking ill and having a nervous breakdown.  Was it true that his wife left him when he took ill?

Hello

John Keig was originally from Ireland and spent many years in the Isle of Man.  May I ask how Sue and Elsie are related to the Kinnish Family.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my original question regarding the Kinnish family from Santon.
The family have always been a bit of a mystery to me.  In particular I am interested in now finding out as much as possible about Robert Henry Kinnish's first wife.  If I have my facts correct I think one of the postings states that she was called Maria Bannan.  Does anyone have any knowledge of her family please?
