This is the information that I have on Robert Henry Kinnish ("Robbie") b.1851.  I would appreciate any additional information about the Kinnish family from Santon.  They were farmers - (Mulllinaragher, The Rheast, Ballajerie, Ballavayle)

1851: Robert Henry  (b1851) lived with parents
and sister Esther in Onchan.  His mother
Alice died in 1858; Father Christopher
remarried in 1861 - Catherine (mary?)
Clague (German). No record of marriage.
1861 Robbie lived at Barrack St with
father and Step mother + step-grand
mother, Jane Clague.
1871. AT 19 he was a farm servant at
Ballacregga Santon, home of John
Cowin, brother to mother Alice.
Ann Kinnish, sister of Robbie also worked
on the farm.
1881.Robbie and Margaret (woodward) lived at Ballahow
Cottage with Thomas Christopher (4)
1882 Robbie was a farm laborer at Ballahow
1889 Tenant farmer at Ballakelly
1891Robt (38); Mgt(35), Thos C. (14);
Robt H(1); also, Ann Cowin, cousin (17),
1901 lived at Ballavayle,Santon

This Robert Henry (age 1) was my great uncle; he married Maria Bannon and then Louisa Kneale.

I would also like to have any information about Alan Kinnish and Steven Kinnish.  Alan appears in my notes with as Australia?

Jan

I believe Robbie also worked as a railway plate layer - but do not have any more detail than this.

the 1851 census onchan entry  is strange - definitely reads robert scholar age 6 born german + esther dau age 15 born german housemaid - this is I think an impossibilty even with rounded ages Alice would be a young teenager
The bapt of robert at Santon 18501124 with possibly an earlier child ann-jane at St marks 18480604
Christopher is easily traced backwards as is Alice
