Parish Records
« on: Tuesday 20 January 04 04:29 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me how I can conduct a search of Parish Records, or get someone to do it for me(pay for it) when I am unsure where to start.
Example:
Manchester Cathedral Baptisms abt 1819
Collegiate Church Manchester about the same era.
I have know idea whereabouts in Manchester
When I search  the Lancashire Parish Society it states
Manchester (St Marys)
Manchester (St James St George)
How do I know which one.

Get your nearest LDS Family History Centre to get the Parish records for you, then go through them to check for what you want. :)
Don't have one yet.

A site you might try is : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/

This is an aid to researching batch numbers on the LDS site.  It has all the batch numbers for Manchester parishes that are on the IGI.  If you want help in using it you can contact me direct.
looking for Toon in NW Leics. Henson from Peterborough and Leicester, King in London.  Would be happy to chat to others with the same interest in genealogy

Dear Elaine,
They are all the same place.... ie The Manchester Cathedral!!!
This site is on Deansgate which is one of the main roads through Manchester.

To find out more you can contact the LDS or if you are far from home you could contact a researcher covering Lancashire!

All Researchers who charge a fee post under "For Sale/Wanted ...etc
