I have a Hugh b.abt1800 on Latter Day Saints website there is a listing for him christened 28 May 1801 with father as Patrick Creany in Mageralin,Down,Ireland.Last name is spelt different.I was told he immigrated to US or Canada abt  1825 or 1826.He married Elizabeth Mealy in Pennfield,NB, Canada and died there 15 May 1868 at 65. So he would have been older than 65. If anyone has info on Hugh's parents or brothers or sisters please let me know.Hugh is my gggrandfather.

Hi,

I am also searching for a Hugh Patrick Craney, I think he was my Gt  Grandmothers  father, her name was Isabella Craney d.o.b. 1855 and died in 1920. They came from Ballynahinch County Down Ireland. I can not find any more info on the Craney family. All I know is that they lived in Manchester and then Lancashire England in 1901 census.
I would be most grateful for any info.

Fifteen lines up from the Craney entry you will find " Various County Down Surnames - Excellent  " Craney (and variations) are under Cra ....Cri.

Had a look for Hugh on the BVRI and this is all I could find although these two are different spelling I am pretty sure the parents are the same
