The collections on Wesleyans are difficult to penetrate in some instances. JW was a follower of the Rev Champness and spent time in Rochdale, Crewe and Cornwall being "taught" before embarking on his journey to India. I am also fortunate to have pictures of other Edlin preachers from the Vale in the 1860s. It has been a real learning curve researching them all but very enjoyable.
Leics: Edlin, Isam, Wright, Wesson
Notts: Smith, Hughes.
Lancs: Dobbin, Rowlinson, Marr, Povall, Hall, Halliwell
Berks/ Sussex: Dearlove, Carter, Marchant.

I used to see that tomb of J W edlin , I was very much curious to know history behind this.. I searched in internet. I got this link.. If you need any kind of help or pictures you are welcome for that..That's my hobby to find old tombs, historic monuments and try to find the history behind this.

Hello,

I have a relative, James W Edlin, born Lancs but lived in Nether Broughton Leics who went to India as a "Joyful News" Evangelist and Colporteur. He died about 1889 aged 27 years. I am searching the consular death returns with little success. Can anyone advise me on how to find out when / where he died and suggest any other avenues of research to shed more light on his life.

All advice gratefully received.

Heather
