 :(Can anyone please help me find my GGGGrandparents births,this is the only info i have on them.David Lammie born Auckinleck 1814 he was a shepherd,i am searching for his wife who i only know as Jane,i think she was born in 1808 in Sorn.I dont know when they married or died.I am only going off info from a census for Hillend Kirkconnell Dumfrieshire,it has them down as aged David 67 and Jane 73 in 1881.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thankyou Anne.

Hi Anne,

A David Lammie married Jane Gall 17 November 1853 Kirkconnell by Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire. I found this on the IGI.  A Jean Gall was born 3 November 1807 daughter of William Gall and Isabell Haddow, Galston, Ayr. This would make her 45 or 46 at the time of marriage.  Jean and Jane are interchangeable. I have one in my family who used both spellings.

Maggie,once again thankyou for your help.I have since found out from another very kind person that Jane Gall was Davids second wife,his first wife was unknown but was dead by 1851.Their youngest son William was only 2 years old so she must have died sometime between 1847 and 1851.Thankyou again Maggie,if it wasnt for people like you many of us would be hitting lots of brick walls,infact i would have given up a long time ago.Thankyou.Anne.

I wonder if they could be related to Jane
Edward Margaret and William
all single and Margaret is Head of the household
aged 33
Her brothers are both shoemakers
