I have returned with more information this time
James Paddon was the organist for the Cathedral Church of St Peter In Exeter.
He died in c1835 and I presume (ie I hope) that he is buried there. I have not been able to find the burial or death details of his wife - Elizabeth Maria (nee Degan). Could someone please tell me where I can find the MIs for the Cathedral or the death records for that area? Thank you.
Kind regards
Jill

Hello Jill,
The gentleman in charge of the cemeteries in Exeter may be able to give you some answers - I have found him to be most helpful in the past. His name is John O'Callaghan and his email address is:

Jill,
Just found an old post of yours for James Paddon, organist at Exeter Cathedral. I am a descendent of him. He was my great great great grandfather.
What is your connection, if any, with him please?
Hugh
