1841/51 Census George Harrison
« on: Wednesday 15 February 06 20:38 GMT (UK) »
I have a George Harrison born 1814 in Barston Warwickshire and an Ann Elvin born 1820 in Tanworth who are a pair of my GGGGrandparents. There son Beverley (actual name Leonard Beverley Lovelace) was born in Solihull in 1855.

What I would like is information about George and Ann and their families. I would also appreciate info on Beverley as I have scarce background on him or his syblings!

Thank you everyone.

Sean

Great. Thanks JohnP and Jim1, appreciate the support here. Jim1 I notice that in the Christenings listed there is a George Albert and Evelyn Alma both Christened on the 4th of Nov. 1860. Then There is a George and my GGgrandparent Leonard B Christened on the 6th of the same month! (Same year too.  :)) Could one of these Georges be the Father George and another a Son? Any clues on the Christening records?

Sean

The IGI has marriage entry for George Harrison & Ann Elvins on 20 FEB 1838 at Saint Phillips, Birmingham, Warwick.

There is a birth entry of a George Harrison christened 30 AUG 1812 at  Barston, Warwick - parents listed as Arthur Harrison & Anne.

Also christening entry of Ann Elvins on  09 JUN 1819 at Solihull, Warwick, her parents listed as Edward Elvins & Elizabeth.

Hello Sean
Usually at an adult christening it will be stated as such.It wasn't unusual to have more than one child with a favourite name,I think these are both children of George & Ann.

Gracious. Two Georges and a George in the same cottage! Thanks Jim1, I had no idea that a family might utilize a name to such an extent.

I grew up in Coventry which is very close to Solihull and my Uncle and Aunt lived in Solihull up untill recently. My Aunt says that there is an old Pub next to where Hillfield cottage would have been. Next time I'm in England I'll have to go take a look!

Hey Sean,

They must like being near Pubs, on 1861 census they were next door to the 'Boat Inn' at Hampton Lane, Catherine de Barnes, Solihull

cheers John
