Hello Norma,
You are awesome! William is a family name on the Clubb side, every generation had a William Young Clubb. Chrissy is most likely to be after Andrew's mother Christian, but both Helen and Jane are new to this line. SOOOO we may be on to something! I will try to look around from here online on those dates and names. Thank you so very much. If you happen to come across anything more in your travels please let me know.  Is there any way to check obituaries in the area from the early 1900's? I was wondering if there would be any record of a hit and run in the 1920 era?Thank you once more for all your help.

Hi Paula
The William I gave you was a Smith so I was wondering if maybe it was Jane Smith's Dad especially as his wife was a Jane too. I will see what I can find out on the car incident, was that in Mastrick? There is a place in Edinburgh   that holds all Church Records but I think you have to pay for copies or for their time or something. Because you have the marriage date it would be easy peasy to get their certificate then you would at least have her age and fathers name..then you would be really on to something. ;)
best wishes
Norma.

Norma,
You have been great, I thought doing a family tree would be fun, I didn't realize it was something I was going to need therapy for- I am hooked! I played around with it in school years ago for a project (my mat. grandmother had oodles of papers on her side) I hadn't done anything with it since, until I had my son 7 years ago. Then I started poking around again...I could go on all day, but will shorten it- my family has been in the States since the Salem Which trials- Putnams are easy to trace, Moulton's were gold/silversmiths. Morrill's ran a 'House of Entertainment"(what do you think that means???)
Caldwell's were in the Civil War, and so on...My husband's family is new to the States mid1880's to 1900 and are giving me a run for my money.  My mat. Grandfather's family settled in the town I grew up in in the 1600's and I lived in the original homestead...my son and I have been photographing the cemeteries in town and I think I have him hooked already. I want to find out as much as I can, my husband jokes that I have traced us back to the dinosaurs... not quite that far but I can claim Charlemagne.

I did look around a little last night for William Smith, but I don't have anything concrete as of yet...it is a good lead though.  Would you know how much a Marriage Cert. would cost?? My grandmother's pen pal is coming in the spring for a visit and I could have her look into it possibly...she is from Scotland, but I am not sure where. I will have to find out.

Thanks so much,
Paula
