« on: Sunday 26 September 04 00:41 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a number of people I understand were living on Mill Street in Hull in these years, including John Tymon, Judy Tymon, Margaret Tymon, Thomas Molloy (MCCloy), Catherine Tymon/Haycock, Mark Haycock.  Can anyone help?

I've partly answered my own question.

John Tyeman is recorded as living at 7 Mill Street in Hull in 1851 (1871 HO107/2363 Hull Myton Folio 173  Page 47).  This is my 4 x great grandfather John Tymon - a retired tailor from Ireland.

I would still like to know anything about the others.

Thanks

Hi Ticker,

Have looked for the other members of the family on the 1851 census, and have had no luck I'm afraid.

Have you seen the marriage entry for Margaret Tymon and Thomas in 1839?  On FreeBMD, Thomas's surname is transcribed as Mcclay and on YorkshireBMD his surname is transcribed as Mccolay.

Hi Kath

Thanks for looking for me.

Yes I have seen the marriage of Margaret Tymon and Thomas McColay.  I have the marriage certificate and Margaret is aged 44, a widow and the daughter of James Tymon.  She may be the sister of my John but I don't know for sure.  They were living at 4 Mill Street in Hull at the time they were married so Margaret must be related to John.  (Says me hopefully!  ;) )

John would have been born about 1790-1795 and Margaret 1796.  Would love to know some more about Margaret.

Best wishes

Hi Ed

Thanks for that.  ;)

Can you confirm that James was born in Ireland?  All other records I've found say he was born in Hull.

Best wishes
