just got a reply from the BMA. this is were he
worked in England.
We have only the UK Medical Register and Medical Directory
for information on doctors' careers. The Medical Register shows
that George Alton Cherry registered as doctor 4 April 1885.
His qualifications were Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries
of London 1885. His addresses in the Medical Register are as follows:

1885-1887 - 43 Frederick Street, London WC
1888-1889 - 81 Hight Street Deptford, London
1890-1893 - Grosvenor Villas, Burrage Road, Plumstead

1893 is the final year in which he is registered. It is likely that he died in that year or just after.

he had one son in England that is all I know ofGeorge Alton Cherry
born 1894 just after he died.

In 1881 there's a family of

Abner Cherry born England
Mary Cherry born Ireland
Maria born Ontario
Ruth born Ontario
GEORGE CHERRY born Ontario - listed as a student born 1862
Mary Cherry
Charley Neil

They are in the County of York, the location now would be Aurora, Ontario

Do you think this may be your George?

Is there a reason why you think he was in the County of Frontenac?

If he was in the army and a doctor, perhaps he was at RMC, Royal Military College in Kingston which is in the Frontenac County.

So you don't think that the family in York County could be your George?
