1851 census Thomas PAUL -Kensington
« on: Friday 24 September 04 23:56 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to the 1851 census for Kensington and Fulham?
The index shows me the PAUL family ref 1471 f 296b

I am looking for a Thomas PAUL born c 1842/3,parents names unknown (yet!). He married in 1864 in Bermondsey.

This may not be the correct one,as I thought he was born in Southwark, but it's the only one I can find.If anyone can find another one I'd be very pleased!

The surname changes to PAULL with each generation.

Would be very grateful for any help,I've trawled the birth indexes many times at FRC but have never found him.

Thanks

Carol

Hi,
Using your reference numbers with the 1851 census, there is a Paul family living at 13 Dorcas Terrace.  The fathers' name is Thomas, mother Tabitha and a son called Thomas as well, who is 8 yo.
I have tried to attach the image a couple of times, but it is coming up with a message, which wont allow me to do it. The size etc is correct. I can post it to your email if you wish.
Cheers,
Paula.

Thanks for all those Paul's Geoff.
The family I am looking for are mostly from the Bermondsey area.I was hoping that the 8 year old Thomas Paul I found in 1851 might be the one.
Especially as dad is also Thomas, but all 3 of them were from Kensington area.

So back to the drawing board I'm afraid.

It's his 1842 ish birth I've never been able to find.
He says he was born in Southwark on the 1881 census.
Would I be best posting on a Surrey site?
Or does Bermondsey and Southwark come under London?
