Hi,
Spennimoor/Spennimore?
I hope I'm not mistaken with the spelling - if you check further down this page to Sunday, 15th. January you should find a similar query, with hopefully your answer.
Good luck!

Hi, I live in Spennymoor. I don't think George st. is still there but Rosa St School is. You could try writing to the headmaster . Just address it to Rosa St school Spennymoor Co. Durham DL16 and it will get there.

Hi
Something that may help - Rosa Street School was originally called the "Board" School, and this is how it is mentioned in old documents. If you look at my website, in the records section, there are transcripts from Trade Directories which describe the schools - here is a direct link to one of them:
www.picturespennymoor.co.uk/kespde.html
(from 1890)
I can email you a modern photograph (the building has hardly changed in 127 years) if you wish. There is a chance that you ancestor could have attended the "National" School in the High Street, however this was demolished many years ago and I haven't seen a decent picture of it anywhere...
Let me know if you need any further help.
