I'm trying to find information regarding Sarah Ellen Taylor.She was born in Ripon workhouse in 16/5/1901 and has daughter Mary born 23/12/1919 (also in Ripon) father unknown - any ideas ?????.
Sarah then married William Morris Gardener and lived in Ripon, they had several children William Gardener (1922-1996), Peter Gardener (1937-1943), Alice Gardener, Maurice Gardener. After her husbands death (1944 in Ripon) she moved away - but where to, apparently she died to wards the end of 1951 - any ideas ????

If you have Mary's birth certificate and no father is given you're stuck.  One of those frustrations of family history.
You have Sarah's date of birth, so presumably you have her birth certificate.  Does that imply that she, too, was illegitimate?
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

There is no father on Mary's birth certificate.
Sarah's parents were James Taylor and Margaret Jane Redhead (1880-1938). They were married April/May/June 1899.
It's Sarah's were abouts we are interested after her husbands death in 1944
