Jennifer,
Hate to be such a "pain" with all my questions on OUR ancestry and we do appreciate you taking the time to help out. Do you have access to Pallott's Index?
Found today what we think might be the father of our first Burridge. He was (?) William Burridge b. Feb. 18, 1768 in Battersea. He married a Mary ? and had some children Robert b. 1798 and Charles b. 1800. Could there have been an Arthur b. 1796?
William b. 1768 was a market gardener, as was our Arthur b. 1796. In our research Arthur's wife, Emma Guy was born, circa 1807, in Shifnal, Shropshire, where we read "...Most of the women (who worked in the fields) travelled on foot from Shropshire and north Wales....". This seems very much as if there was some sort of family resemblance.
BTW, William b. 1768 had 9 other children with Mary Whickman from 1814 to 1823.
If this makes any sense to you, you're much better than I.
