Hi Meredith,
The only Grace born c1817 listed, is one living in Sydenham, Lewisham. She is with 11 other Harrison's, one is a baby of 6 days old.

Hello Meredith

As stated this family has to be yours...........their is no other!

Are they gypsies/travellers?...........but with a son who is an organist!

1841
SYDENHAM COMMON, SYDENHAM, LEWISHAM, KENT
WILLIAM HARRISON   55   COLT BREAKER    NO
MARRIAN        "           40                              NO
WILLIAM        "            25 ORGANIST            YES
GRACE            "           20                              NO (not born Kent)
JOHN              "            20                             YES
HENRY            "            15                             YES
ELIZABETH     "            10                              YES
JOSEPH          "             8                               YES
CHARLES        "             6                               YES
RICHARD        "             5                                YES
END                "             3                               YES
CHARLOTTE    "             1                               YES
N.K                 "              6 DAYS                     YES
---------------
1841 rule applies ie 15-19=15, 20-24=20, 40-44=40 etc

all the children bar Grace appear in the male column.......one has to assume that Elizabeth & Charlotte are female, as for the 6 day old baby it may well land up to be MARY ANN daur of Grace

*I wonder if "MARRIAN" the mum said enough is enough...no more children. so they called him END   ;D

This may be of interest
There are quite a few Harrison offspring on the IGI, parents
William and Maria
St Bartholomews Sydenham
Do you think END was meant to be Edward?
Is it just a coincidence

Hello all who have helped me with this query,
I have since found them on the 1841 census, thankyou.  I still know very little about my Grace Harrison, the unknown child was Mary Ann but she seems to have disappeared after this, no death can be found so maybe she was adopted out.  Grace had a son, John in 1846 ( also while unmarried ) & yes she is living with her brother William & his family in 1851.  On John's birth cert it gives Grace's place of residence as Lewisham workhouse but John was born at William's house in Sydenham.  I cannot find Grace after this date.
Grace's mother Maria died (perhaps of exhaustion) & her father remarried a woman 32 years younger than him & in total, that I can find, William had 17 children, he died age 83.

Thanks once again,
Meredith ;D
